Snow White fancy dress homemade – Magically Made
Kids Week Clothes Challenge is all week long. I am making a homemade Snow White Halloween costume for a little girl that is a little over a year old. My pattern is Simplicity 2563. This is day one of the kids clothes week challenge. Below are the links to the next step of the Snow White dress. Here is what I did so far.
I finished the bodice and now I am on to the sleeves. Below are the links to the next step of the Snow White dress.
Today is Snow Whites Headband. I thought this would be easy. But to my surprise it was fairly difficult to turn the headband inside out after sewing it. Super Cute when done though.
Disney Snow White costume cape day 5. The whole time I thought of Superman because of the colors. This as Velcro and Hook & Eyes to keep the cape in place so not to bother the little one when wearing it. So smart! This could be reversible if I didnt put the Hook & Eyes on it.
On day 6 I am making the collar. I had trouble finding the heavy interfacing that was called for, so I had to find something else that would work. What I like is that it attaches to the dress with Velcro so if the collar bothers the child it can simply be removed.
Disney Snow White Princess Costume day 7.
Yay it is finally finished! Because I used a pre-made pattern I followed the directions to a T. Because I as making this for a certain little girl I did have to adjust the length of the dress, cape and the size of the zipper. The pattern is from Simplicity 2563. There is so many ways to customize this costume to look one of a kind, like making the bodice velvet or finding a yellow glitter fabric for the skirt for examples. The client I made this for wanted the classic Snow White and it came out perfect I think.
